Spectacular Centro Location - Luxury Decor – Amenities
Casa Acanto was showcased in a 16-page spread in the April 2013 issue of Architectural Digest and again in Architectural Digest/Mexico in April 2019.
Fisher Weisman (fisherweisman.com), the award-winning design firm based in San Francisco and San Miguel, transformed this historic property into a spectacular house and garden.
The stone building at the front of the property was built in the 18th Century as a tannery. It was converted to a home and expanded over the following two centuries. The L-shaped building is laid out such that each bedroom has a terrace, views, light, cross ventilation and privacy, unlike typical courtyard houses. Casa Acanto sits on a particularly large lot dominated by three enormous jacaranda trees. Limestone paving extends throughout the gardens where fountains add beautiful touches and sounds to the lush atmosphere. The gardens are dramatically illuminated for nighttime entertaining.
The staff includes two maids, both of whom cook, who work Monday through Saturday from 9am-3pm. The gardener works Monday through Saturday from 9am-1pm. An afternoon maid for help with cocktails and evening turn down service comes from 3pm-9pm. The staff is available to work on Sundays for a small extra charge.
